Who we are
Aura Scale (“we”) makes Janitor. These terms cover the Janitor app, getjanitor.app and your subscription. By installing Janitor or starting a subscription, you agree to them.
Your license
A subscription comes with a license key. One key works on 3 Macs. Janitor checks the key with Polar once a day. When a subscription ends, Janitor goes back to recording what it would do, without closing, quitting or deleting anything.
Use Janitor on your own Macs, for personal or work use. Please don't share, resell or publish your key, or change Janitor to get around the license check.
Trial, billing and cancelling
Polar runs checkout and billing. The first 7 days are free, and Polar asks for a card at checkout. After the trial you're billed $2.99 a month or $29.99 a year, in US dollars, until you cancel.
Cancel any time in the Polar customer portal. Cancel within 7 days and you pay nothing. If you cancel after a charge, Janitor keeps working until the end of the period you paid for, and you aren't charged again.
Refunds
If Janitor isn't right for you after a charge, write to support@getjanitor.app within 14 days of that charge and we'll refund it in full. Refunds go back to the card you paid with, through Polar.
What Janitor does on your Mac
Janitor closes windows and tabs, quits apps, stops processes and deletes files, following rules you can see and change. The first day runs in learning mode, and the next sweep is listed before it runs.
Closed tabs can be restored for 30 days, and old Downloads go to the Trash first. Stopped processes and deleted caches can't be brought back. Put anything you can't lose on the allowlist.
Warranty and liability
Janitor is provided “as is”. We build it to be careful, but we can't promise it will be free of bugs or suit every setup. To the extent the law allows, we give no other warranties, express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
To the extent the law allows, Aura Scale isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid for Janitor in the 12 months before it. Nothing here takes away rights you have under consumer law that can't be waived.
Changes and governing law
When these terms change, we update the date at the top. If a change affects what you pay or what Janitor does on your Mac, we email you before it takes effect.
These terms are governed by the laws of the country where Aura Scale is registered. If you're a consumer, you also keep the protections of the law where you live.
